Ashes within me follows the making of Peles Duo’s sculptural installation at St. Matthäus Church, unfolding between Passiontide and Easter. Drawing inspiration from the Song of Songs and the symbolic image of the open pomegranate, the work reflects on love as something ambiguous, fleeting and transformative. More than a simple documentation, the film translates the evolving installation into its own visual language, becoming a parallel work that mirrors and extends its themes.
