Growing Wild
QHD Video with sound, 24 Minutes
Growing Wild traces life inside an LGBTQ+ housing project in Berlin across four generations of residents. Centered on a resident celebrating 40 years of surviving HIV, the film interweaves intimate stories of love, society, racism, gender and illness, revealing how the past echoes in everyday life. Set against a housing crisis that makes safe, accessible homes scarce for older adults and people with diverse needs, these narratives form a larger portrait of the queer community. Hovering between the factual and the poetic, Growing Wild uncovers how historical traumas persist and what it means to nurture community amid loss and resilience.
